Junior college transfers can be hit-or-miss. Some never adjust to a new school, and a new coach, and more strenuous academics, and a higher level of competition. For others, the transition is seamless.

Louisiana Tech guard Jamel Guyton falls into the latter category.

Guyton transferred to Tech after two seasons at Odessa College in his hometown of Odessa, Texas. In his first game with the Bulldogs -- a 61-59 road victory over Louisiana-Lafayette -- Guyton scored 27 points, shooting 4-of-8 from 3-point distance and 11-of-14 from the free throw line...
